Sadly this part of the app has a weak functional aspect, however, it still demonstrates how it could work. Three melodic dictation questions were whipped up in Sibelius and then exported as mp3s to import into Hype. The graphic was also exported with the answers for a “correct” screen before progressing to the next question. These images can be seen below.
For the prototype app, you can drag the semibreves onto the stave and hit submit. Regardless of what you do, it will say correct because there is currently no way for it to check the correct answer. The code for it is far beyond our comprehension and would take far too long to learn for this project.
The prototype app only has 3 questions available, however, if the app was developed professionally, it would have options for more questions, as well as pulling questions from a library to make it random.
